Anniversary

The Tijdschrift voor Entomologie is only one of few entomological journals remaining, which retain the same name, and standing among such famous journals as the Annales de la Société Entomologique de France, the Deutsche Entomologische Zeitschrift, The Entomologist and the only slightly younger Entomologist’s Monthly Magazine.

In 150 years the journal has grown from a Society journal, largely written in Dutch, into an internationally recognised journal for systematic entomology. More information on the history of the journal is published in Volume 150(2), samples of old covers can also be seen here.

The 150th anniversary of the Tijdschrift was celebrated with a new design of the journal, as well as with a special second issue, containing a number of mini-reviews and historical information on the journal. At the same time the contents of the journal were more widely broadcasted over the web by placing the complete table of contents of 150 volumes online and starting with open access of all papers in volumes 141-148.
